(Dated 16 April 1785) and two codicils dated 3 April 1786 and 17 March 1787. [See PA 171/4/1]. Bequests (1) To Samuel Brockhurst, nephew, several houses in Bull Yard, Coventry, now occupied by [ ] Barton, George Goddard, [ ] Dogwood, [ ] Baily, Joseph Blackburn, Samuel Caldicott, [ ] Johnson and [ ] Young. (2) Samuel Brockhurst is to be paid 4s weekly for life from the income of a house in Jordan Well Street, Coventry, now sold to John Warner, the money now being paid from the properties in Bull Yard. (3) To Samuel Brockhurst a house on the North side of Jordan Well Street, the tenant Samuel Wood continuing to live there at a yearly rent of £13. (4) Samuel Brockhurst is to pay Joseph Pratt of Coventry several debts from income from the properties in Bull Yard. (5) The devisee to pay Thomas Hurst of Hinckley, Leics., £500, re debts. (6) To Ann Buck, neice of the testator, wife of William Buck of Coventry, silkman, a house on the West side of Little Park Street, Coventry. (7) To Hannah Wyatt, sister of Ann Buck, a public house, 'The Coach and Horses', on the East side of Much Park Street, Coventry, occupied by Robert Ryley. (8) The executors and trustees to raise £450 for Mary Gilbert of Coventry, widow and £250 to Elizabeth Richman of Coventry, widow, from bonds and promissory notes. (9) Mr. Edward Waters and [ ] Sadler to distribute £50 to the poor neighbours of Little Park Street. (10) Mr. Thomas Hurst to distribute £5 to the poor of Hinckley. (11) Mr. Reeve of Bromsgrove Worcs., gent, and Mr. Humphries of Bromsgrove, linen manufacturer, to distribute £5 in bread to the poor of Bromsgrove. (12) To Samuel Brockhurst, all wearing apparel. (13) To Mary Dawson of Coventry, £10 for mourning. (14) Annuity of £20 to Mary Dawson. (15) The residue of the personal estate for the payment of debts and funeral expenses. (16) Half the residue to Ann Buck for life, for the support of her children, the money being paid to them on attaining the age of 21, if there are no children the money is devised to Hannah Wyatt on the same terms. (17) The other half of the residue to Hannah Wyatt, on the same terms as (16). (18) James Wyatt, Thomas Hurst and Nicholas Hurst, executors.
3rd April 1786. 1st Codicil. (1) House in Bull Yard devised on Ann Buck instead of Samuel Brockhurst and discharged from payment of the weekly sum of 4s. (2) Legacy to the poor of Little Park Street, revoked. (3) Legacy to the poor of Hinckley by the Trustees. (4) Table linen to Samuel (5) Legacy in favour of Mary Dawson revoked. (6) £500 to Thomas Hurst of Hinckley. (7) No part of the residue to be devised on Ann Buck (8) Thomas Hurst the younger and William Buck included as trustees and executors.
3 March 1787. 2nd Codicil (1) £400 of residue to Mary Dawson, in respect of the marriage of Hannah Wyatt to Thomas Morris, 'a man of good fortune', (see PA 171/6/1 and 2). (2) £2,400 to the executors in trust for Mary, Elizabeth and Ann Buck, children of the abovementioned Ann Buck to be divided equally on their attaining the age of 21, if no children survive the monies are devised on the children of Hannah Wyatt and her children, if she dies without issue the monies are devised on Thomas Morris.
