Business correspondence between William Hesketh Lever and Edward Wainwright.
Edward Wainwright was employed as Soap Boiler for Lever Brothers, inherited from Winser & Company when Lever first entered the soap making industry. Wainwright, his brother and three sons all worked for Lever Brothers as soap boilers, with a monopoly within the company on knowledge of practical soap making.
Contains several letters showing how jealous Wainwright was of his position and how careful Lever was to humour him.
