Description

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of the members of the Royal Navy Lodge [Moderns] and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1785, 1786, and 1789 - 1796 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The Royal Navy Lodge was established in 1762 and met at The Three Kings, Beach Street, Deal, Kent. In lodge was named the Royal Navy Lodge in 1776. In 1809 the lodge met at the Royal Oak Inn, Oak Street, Deal and the meetings remained there until the lodge was erased in 1822.
