Records of the Bath Corporation Water Act 1903

Records created or gathered by the Town Clerk during the development of the Bath Waterworks Act 1903 and execution of the scheme of works specified by it.
The scheme consisted of a new covered reservoir at Oakford Lane; the laying of pipes connecting the said reservoir with springs called the Drummond Springs, Watts Springs, Oakford Springs, County Boundary Springs, and Wayfield Springs to be acquired under this said Act, and the City Waterworks as already existing; and power to borrow £42,000 for the execution of these works.
These records contain: lists of owners, lessees and occupiers affected by the works; public notices; records of a vote of the rate payers of the city; legal papers; the Bill as submitted to Parliament; plans and sections of the intended works; petitions against the Bill; agreements and arbitration papers regarding compensation payments; reports on the progress of the Bill in Parliament and the undertaking of the works under the Act; and tender documents and Contracts for the undertaking of the works.
