Planning and Building Control Plans

These plans were selected by staff of Dartford Library from those discarded by Dartford Borough Council after a programme of microfilming, according to which resemble closely those adopted by archives staff when sampling similar material; [see note to catalogue of RD/C/P for criteria for retention of these plans - plan in 50 plus any of special interest.

They have been arranged, according to Dartford Urban District Council and Dartford Borough Council's own numbering system, as follows

3 Plans of Dartford Guardians Institution, West Hill 3-130 1897-1923

4 Temporary Buildings, Roadworks etc. 16-2939 1917-1974

The date given is that on the Council's stamp of approval or reception impressed on each plan; where the plan is not stamped, the date in round brackets is that marked on the plan by the original draughtsman; where the date, otherwise missing can be inferred, or where the date is obviously in error [as is frequent in e.g. 1909] the date is given in square brackets
