Papers of William Grimes on Beaker culture

Drawings, notes and correspondence of William Francis Grimes, VPSA (1905-88), Director of the London Museum 1945-56, and of the Institute of Archaeology 1956-73, intended for a corpus of beaker pottery; 1925-61. The corpus was never finished or published. A corpus was later published by D. L. Clarke, Beaker Pottery of Great Britain and Ireland, 2 vols. (Cambridge, 1970).
