86. FRODSHAM James Cockeyne, vicar c Thomas Janion. Vicarage sequestered from Rowland Heywood to use of Mr Boden who resigned. Parishioners petitioned Committee for Plundered Ministers for Cockeyne to be appointed as a godly minister. Appointed 20 July 1659 by Committee and to have tithes and profits till further orders. Heywood having died. Janion says no tithes due since Cockeyne is mere intruder and not lawful incumbent - libel, depositions, responsions.

87. FRODSHAM James Cockeyne, vicar c Ralph Bushell for tithes. Bushell denies Cockeyne is their legally instituted vicar and is not entitled to receive tithes. Cockeyne has objected to tithe payments - libel, depositions, sentence.

88. FRODSHAM James Cockeyne, vicar, c Richard Flinge who says that Cockeyne is not in holy orders and has preached against tithes saying they were superstitious. Cockeyne is an intruder into the living - libel, exception, sentence, costs.

89. FRODSHAM James Cockeyne c John Wilkinson who says that Cockeyne was never in holy orders, nor a minister, never administered sacraments and objected to tithes. He has heard the Quakers rail against him in the pulpit. The rightful owner of the tithes is Lord Rivers - libel, depositions.
