Description (What the record is about)
-
Letters from James Watt Jr. to William Creighton, head of the Drawing Office, from 1830. The bundle also includes two letters addressed to William Bennett, an engine erector who took over the running of the Drawing Office when Creighton became ill in September 1830.
This bundle was examined by Henry Hazleton in the 1890s, as it has a card cover similar to those found with the previous large bundles. However this card has not been inscribed with Watt Jr.’s name or the date of the letters. Given the small size of the bundle, it is either incomplete or the letters were brought together from other sources.
