Administrative / biographical background

'The Abbey of the English' was a television documentary about Westminster Abbey. It was directed by Philip Donnellan with production by the BBC, script by Philip Donnellan and David Lytton, music by Elizabeth Poston, and narration by Alan Badel. It was broadcast on BBC 1 on 27 December 1966. There are no tapes in the archive relating to the production of the programmes, only a series of interviews conducted by Ewan MacColl and Charles Parker.
