Description (What the record is about)
-
Richd. How (Aspley) to Wm. B. How (at Wm. Tothill's, Staines, Middx.) may thy repentence be sincere & persevering ..... I can't forbear querying whether the horror & anguish of thy mind has its source so much in remorse & regard to thy offence against God, as in thy earthly affections, the apprehension that the darling of thy heart, may I not say thy idol, may suffer. I don't forbid thy concern for her. nor a tender attachment, with grief for the injury she has received from thee .... may the love that began with guilt be refined & purified Be not uneasy, she shall have all necessary supplies, inform me of her wants
