Draft card index to the Davidson papers

Modern card index to the Davidson papers. This was begun in the 1970s along the same lines as earlier indexes to Archbishops' papers, but after the initial phase of work indexing was reduced to a more summary listing. These cards may therefore contain useful information, but are incomplete. They partially duplicate the typescript finding aid/electronic catalogue, but may in some instances allow additional access points to the papers (e.g. names of correspondents), as the main finding aid is selective, being based on subject entries. Including many cross references e.g. parishes. This card index apparently covers only the earlier parts of the Davidson papers, to c.1908 (i.e. the earlier part of the chronological sequence comprising volumes 27-217). \r\n\r\nDivided into alphabetical sections, each 1 box: \r\nDavidson 806/1: A-F\r\nDavidson 806/2: G-Z

The contemporary letter registers (Davidson 785-788) can also be useful in tracing items within the Davidson papers.
