Administrative / biographical background

Wallands School was one of the new Council schools proposed in the Development Plan for Primary Education prepared as a result of the 1944 Education Act and given ministerial approval in 1946. It was constructed on a six-acre site in Gundreda Road and opened in September 1951

The school's head teachers are as follows

1970-1983 Mary Priest (Clark on her marriage in 1981)

1991- Brian Aikens
