Includes:
Report on Birmingham Repertory Theatre - contents include sections on stage engineering, stage lighting, stage working lights, sound reproduction and amplification system, and information sheets (also includes photos by Willoughby Gullachsen, plans and sections, diagrams, list of contractors and those supplying equipment).
File of plans by S.T. Walker and Partners relating to 1988 refurbishment and planned changes to Centenary Square.
Box file of mostly copy production reports including cast lists, cast and staff contact details, props lists, rehearsal schedules, stage plans, call sheets, stage managers reports. Also includes copy typed list of main house productions (1971 - 1985).
Two files of correspondence between The Rep, the City Council and others concerning the new theatre building and settling in (September 1970 - December 1972) e.g. finances, the timing of the release of funds, meeting additional expenditure costs, rating assessment, the lease, the former premises in Station Street (with note that it was sold to the city on 14 April 1972), completion of annual returns.

Letter from Secretary to the Board Jack Mayers (21 April 1972) to William Bloye, the sculptor of the bust of Sir Barry Jackson pointing out that in the excitement of moving into the new building that some material got left behind including the bust and that it has subsequently been stolen. Bloye was asked if he still has the original cast to create another bust (he did and offered to give the cost for a new bust).
Letter from architect Graham Winteringham (05 October 1972) to Mayers concerning placement of bust of Sir Barry Jackson and a plaque in the new building, and details of presentation of award from Royal Institute of British Architects for design of the new building.
Correspondence concerning negotiations on Artistic Director Peter Dews' new contract and his decision to end his contract in July 1972 (and correspondence on his replacement Michael Simpson).
Confirmation that the Sir Barry Jackson freedom casket is at the Art Gallery. -
