States shot by Turkish rifle which went off spontaneously as it was lying on the road 28/9/1918 Nr.Deraa. Bullet smashed tib/fib with much sepsis and comm. Amputation 17/10/1918. Gen condition very poor - sleeps badly. Depressed. In May 1918 had acute dysentry.

Injured. 14/10/1918 dangerously ill. 26/11/1918 embarked Alexandria for UK.;
