Description (What the record is about)
-
The records listed here comprise the records of inquests and inquiries into the cause of death of the Doncaster coroner for most years between 1890 and 1930. During this period the town clerk of the borough of Doncaster held the position of coroner. His jurisdiction covered the borough of Doncaster and did not include places now in the Doncaster metropolitan district. Where people from outside the borough are mentioned in the records this is because they died within the borough, and so the inquest into the death was held by the Doncaster coroner.
