This series contains personal answer books and some inventories. In the first three volumes the date is at the beginning of each entry, after 1669 it is entered at the end of the response. Up to 1719 the information within each volume is arranged chronologically, thereafter, the material is arranged alphabetically.
The volumes record the replies by the defendant or plaintiff to the libel or allegation put forward by the other party.
