Description

Thos. How (Aspley) to Richd. How I, his brother. About a legal case concerned with the principle that one commoner may not impound another's beasts. - Sends purchase deed to peruse & advise on, & also a copy of what has been done by Wm. Mather for David's backside & also of Spuffords that was Pickerings now the Duke of Bedford's which they now pretend to be Town Cow Commons tho' sold to several other people by Croseley ... As to the Parsonage there hath been no alteration for these 100 years past which is 60 sheep and 6 cows to 60 acres of glebe, & the Lord of the manor pretends to no more in proportion nor no deeds that I have ever yet seen mentions more.
