(c) John Bright; and fine levied by Richard Betton and Priscilla to Oliver, Hilary 1787 (807/ ) on property in Worthen to use of Priscilla Betton and assigns for her life, after to use of John Bright Bright and heirs of his body with several remainders.

A marriage arranged between John Bright Bright and Mary Beale spinster with assent of Priscilla Betton and John Bright (uncle). John Bright settled estates of considerable value on his nephew on certain trusts on the understanding that the estates in Worthen should be assigned to Priscilla for her life and after the deaths of Priscilla and John Bright assured to Richard Betton the father on condition that he or his heirs should convey to the use of John Bright Bright or his heirs the property he owned in Wentnor, which was of less value than that at Worthen. In return John Bright Bright had concurred in a recovery and re-settlement. Priscilla Betton, Richard Betton the father and John B. Bright survived John Bright

Richard Betton the father made a will 11 July 1811 or 12 see 807/

The provision for his daughters was to be in lieu of £1000 and interest left to them by the will of his late aunt Mary Bright dated 9 June 1702 (sic) which her executors paid to him, and also in lieu their portions under his marriage settlement .. The rest of his real estate he bequethed to his son Richard (party) his heirs etc J.B. Bright and Richard Atcherley to be executors. Richard Betton the father died 15 June 1819. Will proved 30 Oct 1819 Priscilla Betton died 4 Dec 1819

(b) Mary Ann Betton, Mary Ann Foster by her then name of Mary Ann Betton spinster, Harriet Rimington then Harriet Betton spinster then aged 19, Richard Atcherley.

Richard Betton party was then a minor aged 11 and could not convey but as the property at Wentnor was of much less value than that at Worthen, it would be greatly to his interest to have the agreement carried out. Agreement that John Bright Bright, in case Richard Betton conveyed within 6 months of coming of age, would convey as laid down 27 and 18 Dec 1805

Harriet Rivington came of age 16 Dec 1821, Mary Ann married James Foster 8 Dec 1825, Harriet married Thomas Hosmor Rivington 17 March 1829, Richard Betton came of age 3 Oct 1829

The value of the property in Wentnor is £500 p.a. (subject to the £200 annuity and the £3000 charged on them)

Cons: the agreement of 1830 and a release of the property in Worthen made or to be made, and 5s to the parties of 1st 3rd 4th and 5th and 6th by Loxdale and Scarth.Betton releases, Aaron Foster and J. B. Bright quit claim any rights in the property in Wentnor. J. B. Bright and Rd Atcherley surrender in order to extinguish the term of 1000 years created by will of Rd Betton the father as far as concerns this property. Mary Ann Betton, Foster and wife Rivington and wife quitclaim to free it from the annuity of £200 and the £3000 charged on it.

The property described as a messuage and farm with 184 acres, in Wentnor (formerly Thomas Hotchkiss, then John Lelloe), parcel land in Wentnor (Edw Jones) to hold to Loxdale and Scarth and heirs to use of persons or intents as directed by J. B. Bright in writing, or to use of J. B. Bright and assigns for his life remainder to use of J. B. Bright in trust for him and assigns, remainder to use of J. B. Bright Ms heirs and assigns. Covenant for further assurance. It is witnessed that J. B. Bright in performance of the 1820 articles released the property at Worthen to Rd Betton.

19 March 1822

Will of John Bright Bright. He gave his wife Mary all his property in trust for use of his son John heir and assigns, until age 21, allowing him sufficient to complete his education. He gave his wife £5000 in addition to the £3000 in his marriage settlement - total £8000, in trust for his 4 daughters, Eliza, Mary Frances and Amelia equally at age 21 or marriage; with a further £2000 to be divided between them at the decease of their mother. This money to be raised by sale of his estates in Wentnor. Mary Bright to be executrix. Proved in prerog. ct of Cant. 17 May 1834.

Codicil 11 July 1825 made the £2000 after Mary's death void as his wife was then likely to produce another child to whom he left the £2000.

2nd Codicil 20 Oct 1829. The child was another daughter named Louisa, and he gave her the £2000.
