Copy Letter
Rawlin Mallock to Mr. Walker.
Relating to "selling" his estates - it is his intention to reserve his life on all those estates except Ditcheat with power of leasing the Mannor lands.
Mrs. Mallock has jointure on the demesnes of the Barton of Cockington and all the tythes of Tormoham and Cockington and there is always a possibility of children and entail.
To tell Mr. Barld of all this (- for lending required money).
Gives overleaf an account of the Manors of Broadclist and Axminster in Devon and Fiddington in Somerset, all in lease worth per annum £600.
Then lists:
Cockington: Rated to the Poor £1125
Of which the Barton is rated £375.
Tormoham: Rated to poor £1000
Yearly payment of all tithes in 1/- in the £1, and all the Head Rents are about £90 per annum.
Barton and several farms of Stantor in the Parish of Marldon and joined with Cockington Barton rates to the Poor at £350 per annum. £400 per annum the head rents whereof are included to the above £90. "There is a very good antient Built house fitt for any gentleman" on the Barton of Cockington. Also a wood of 30a. and a deer park stocked with 120 deer, 7 fish Ponds stocked with carp and trout, Rabbit Warren and Privilege of proving all wills of the tenants of Cockington, a large Royalty for wrecks at Sea and a beneficial Income of tythe fish.
