Description (What the record is about)
-
Surrender from Catherina Nevill of Curzon Street, Mayfair, London, spinster and George Henry Nevill of Flower Place, Surrey, to Henry [Nevill] Earl of Abergavenny of a lease and release for lives so that the estate may be merged in the inheritance of HN to enable him to grant a new lease
Property as in 1-2
Recites lease and release (14-17) and declaration of trust (18-19); George [Nevill] Lord Abergavenny party thereto was created Earl of Abergavenny in 1784 and died 10 Sep 1785, and his will was proved (PCC) 17 Sep 1785; the reversion of the property descended to HN as his eldest son and heir
Also recites death of Elfred Staples [blank] Mar 1784; his will, proved PCC 22 Mar 1784, made no mention of the property, but his heir at law was John Staples of the Middle Temple, London, gent, whose will of 12 Mar 1785, also failed to mention the property but left the residue of his estate to the children of John Dixon Dyke, bt in equal shares; death of John Staples [blank] May 1789, and it is not known in whom the legal estate in the property is now vested; CN and GHN, as the persons entitled to the beneficial interest in the property, have therefore agreed to surrender the lease and release for lives so that HN may grant a new lease
