Letter (3 sheets) from Euphemia Attenborough, The Elms, Timberland, Lincoln to Annie Hipwell Dick paid all money into her bank account, as he has had no bank account since left Sawtry; had to raise £400 to pay for the car kept it thinking Dick might get work, got it "because lower priced cars always breaking' Overdraft at present time £78 - won't take a second mortgage want a reliable guarantee for £120 asking for Annie to do this - will give note of hand on security of furniture if Dick does not get work before spring, will have to sell car - not used it this year mortgage on Sawtry property (25 acres of good fen land 11 houses and field attached) kept for emergency, serious illness, funeral expenses Overdraft would have been paid off if Government had not repealed the Bill for three years owe year's interest on mortgage and rent; money for coal (Bank Lincoln City and Midland Bank, Market Square, Peterborough) £20 to be spent on roofs this year will reduce overdraft monthly if Dick can get job possibility of job with Kesteven County Council several County Councillors told him to apply if official resigns secure for 1 years in house Bembridge often saying he will give up this farm asks T C Hipwell to prepare a draft glad John looking well, been staying with Mrs Griffths (nee Attenborough) comments re Rawlins family Smalley started a bus to Sleaford and Lincoln Timberland to have telephone Raisons, Bembridge & Co Shop
