Content
Folio 76. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Thomas Pawson, Relieving Officer, Southwell Union. They acknowledge a letter of 14 May 1856 regarding expenses claimed in the case of the lunatic William Noble. They return his documents but state there appears to be a mistake in the 'Order of Justices', which directs the guardians to pay 10/6 to Mr Calvert and £1:12:0 to Pawson. However the bill of particulars shows the sum of £1:12:0 includes the fee of 10/6 and so the sum actually due to Pawson is £l:1:6. The Poor Law Board request to know if the guardians have made any payment towards these expenses, and how much.
