Description

Southern Africa: Olifants and Groot Berg Rivers (now in Western Cape province, South Africa). 'Map of the course of the Oliphant's River from its source in the mountains to its mouth; also containing the sea coast from its mouth to that of the Berg River; survey'd in the months of April, May and June 1801 ...'. Scale: 1 inch to 600 Rhineland roods. Compass indicator. [Copied from an original map by] John Chrisitan Frederici; this copy signed by Major Kersteman.
