Clavering to Bute, partly in cipher: the duke of Brunswick has resolved to withdraw the artillery and evacuate the town. Clavering is attempting to dissuade him. The landgrave of Hesse intends to leave for Lüneburg on 8 June. Prince Ferdinand has asked the duke for more troops to be taken into English pay. Dated at Brunswick. ff. 314-317
