Drawing no 3598/15A: 'Ministry of Transport - South Wales Motorway Section Maidenhead - Tormarton'. Map of area between Bath and High Wycombe, showing three possible routes of the proposed M4 motorway. Scale: 1 inch to 1 mile. Produced by Sir Alexander Gibb & Partners, Queen Anne's Lodge, Westminster. Amended May 1962: 'minor revision to direct and north routes'. This may be the first map enclosed in letter of 1 November 1962 from J A Fowles, Ministry of Transport, to R E Clarke, Ministry of Aviation.
