Transports will be sent to Veere in Zealand, to be ready to embark 10,000 troops. He encloses an extract from a letter from Charles Stuart, the conservator there, to the marquess of Tweeddale [SP 87/19/149], and two from Chanclos. Two battalions and ordnance stores have been sent to Ostend. Reports that the French intend to sent a large detachment from Flanders to the Rhine. Belle-Isle and his brother, having signed a declaration, will shortly leave for Calais. Cumberland should send a copy of the declaration to Saxe.
