China. 24 sheets (2 duplicates of each of 12 maps) showing Mr Coales's tour of western Szechwan (Sichuan) and eastern Tibet, indicating settlements, boundaries of districts, the nature of the terrain and contours of river valleys. (2 and 14) Index map; (3 and 15) '(i) and (ii) Dace and Drango'; (4 and 22) '(iii) Drio, Kanze, Rongpats'a. (iv) Yilung'; (5 and 25) '(v) Dzogch'en and Gönch'en'; (6 and 24) '(vi) Tungp'u'; (7 and 23) '(vii) Kargang-Chorzhung'; (8 and 16) '(viii) Chamdo'; (9 and 17) '(ix) Enta-Riwoche'; (10 and 18) '(x) Draya and Yengmdo (Yentait'ang)'; (11 and 19) '(xi) Gonjo'; (12 and 20) '(xii) Batang'; (13 and 21) '(xiv) - (xiii)'. General Staff, India, numbers 2148-2159. Scale: 1 inch to 2 miles (except items 2 and 14: 1 inch to about 10 miles). Compass indicators. Sheet sizes between 27 cm x 56 cm and 50 cm x 89 cm.
