Description

Marlborough to Harley: he is pleased that the lords of the council have expressed the queen's displeasure to [Johann Wenzel] Count Gallas [imperial ambassador] at the imperialists' inaction on the Rhine and the indifference shown at her attempts to mediate with the Hungarians. The states [general] are of the same opinion. Appointment of the bishops of Münster and Paderborn. Heavy losses on both sides at the siege of Menin. Dated at camp at Helchin. ff. 491,492
