Prince de Salm to Marlborough: the duke of Savoy has been forced to abandon Chivasso to protect the heights around Turin. If he is forced into a separate peace with France, Prince Eugene will be obliged to withdraw. Desperate situation in Spain. He calls on Marlborough to use his influence with the queen and the states general to embrace the means described in his last letter [facilitate reinforcements for Italy].
