Surveyed in 1860; second edition revised to 1896 and photozincographed and published at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1898. Coloured MS addition showing the site proposed groynes; additions dated 8 August 1912. Signed by Major [?]Maier, Commanding Royal Engineer, Isle of Wight. Stamped at the Board of Trade, 8 September 1912. An inscription details the consent of the Board of Trade to the construction of the groynes; signed by G S Barnes, 17 September 1912.
