Description

Folios 607-608: Henry Litchfield, 7 John Street, Bedford Row. Encloses the order from Vice Admiral Charles Stirling under which he took temporary command of HMS Moselle between April and June 1813 while Commander George Mowbray was in England. Asks for the pay and allowances due for this period.

Folio 609: enclosed with folios 607-608. Order dated 1 April 1813 and signed by Vice Admiral Charles Stirling, HMS Shark, Port Royal, Jamaica, to Lieutenant Henry Litchfield, appointing him as Lieutenant in Command of HMS Moselle, as Commander George Mowbray has returned to England on his promotion to Post Captain.
