First party: William de Gaugi of Stapilford [Stapleford], son of Sampson de Gaugi, and Alice, wife of the same William.
Second party: Robert de Ferrers, earl of Derby.
Place or subject: Two selions of arable land in the territory of Stapilford [Stapleford] with appurtenances forever, namely those two selions which lie in the hay between the land of William son of Human, on the one side, and the land of William de Gaugi Ruffi on the other, and they abut upon the headland of William de Gaugi towards the north. To hold to Robert and his heirs or assigns or to anyone who wishes to give, sell, bequeath or assign the lands freely, quietly, well and by right of inheritance entirely and peacefully, paying yearly to William and his heirs one grain of pepper at Easter for all kind of service, secular exaction and demand and all sorts of customs and demands.
