Folios 241-242. Jean Adolf, Duke of Holstein, to the King, dated at Asse. Believes that the enemy will not undertake anything further this autumn, and so it would be good to send the troops into their garrisons so that they can be sooner returned to a state fit to serve. Reports his astonishment upon learning that the Governor of Brussels let the 50 French horses serving as convoy to the Garrison of Charleroi (arms in hand and trumpets sounding) to enter into the town; this after having had them looked after the previous night in hostels. Departure of the Duke of Wurtemburg; recommends him for command of a particular regiment.
