Folios 201-202. A letter from W [?William] Knox to [Treasury Secretary] John Robinson, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex] concerning expenses claimed by Major Nicolls. Lord George Germain believes the circumstances under which he was sent to England entitle him to reimbursement. Enclosing: Folio 202. Major Ol Nicolls, '1st Battalion Royal', to Lord George Germain, dated at 8 Warwick street. Nicolls was sent home with despatches from [the Dutch Caribbean colonies] of St [Sint] Eustatius by General [John] Vaughan in the 'Venus' frigate, and intelligence concerning the taking of Demarera and Essequibé [Essequibo].
