The Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) was established in April 2002 and is an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government which supervises the process of bankruptcy in Scotland. The Agency operates independently and impartially whilst remaining directly accountable to Scottish Ministers. It is responsible for administering the process of personal bankruptcy and recording corporate insolvencies in Scotland.
