Captured ship: St Philippe or St Philip of St Malo (master Jean la Govelle).
History: a French merchant ship (barque, 30 tons) bound from Rouen to St Malo, laden with burrstones, plaster, whiting, tobacco, bottles, and glass; taken in January or February 1697 by the privateer Prosperous (Dennis Rous commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
