Folios 87-88. A letter from Tho [Thomas] Hopkins to Lord Ambassador [Joseph] Williamson, dated at Whitehall [London, Middlesex]. Advises that: the King [William III] has given an audience with the Swedish ambassador [Count de Bonde] in Windsor; the Duke of Shrewsbury, whose health is uncertain, has gone to his house at Eyford, Gloucestershire; Colonel [Charles] Godfrey and Colonel Mordant are candidates for Master of the Jewell Office, following the death of Mr Henage [Heneage] Montagu; Lord Jersey is to be ambassador to France, replacing Lord Portland, who has not yet had his 'audience of leave' with the French court.
