Folios 146-147. From Nath [Nathaniel] Pigram. Place: Rye [Sussex].
Saying that he has detained under guard and incommunicado a James Blunt, a passenger from Dieppe, from whom he took letters found 'to be altogether amongst papists' which causes him to believe Blunt to be 'an Irish Romish priest he giving me no account of any business he followed' and asking for further orders. A post script states that he has, as ordered, discharged Mascall and Edward Cooks and Thomas Barnesby. (4) May 9 new style April 28 old style. Letter from Marina Hunloke to her mother in which she mentions having written to a Mr Shepperd about the bearer [James Blunt].
