Folio 163. David Dunbar to the Duke of Newcastle. Petition for a licence of absence from his employment as the King's Surveyor in America having been given leave to enter the service of the East India Company and for his duties either undertaken, as now, by his deputy or that he have leave to resign his employment to Mr Benning Wentworth, Governor of New Hampshire. [According to The North American Review Volume 58 Dunbar sold his surveyorship to Wentworth in 1743].
