Letter from Tho [Thomas] Nuthall, Crosby Square [London], enclosing a statement of the case of John Jermyn [Jermy, Jarmy otherwise Palling, Pauling] and requesting that this be considered together with the other papers sent by George Townshend and delivered by Nuthall the previous evening. He asks Jones to mention to [Newcastle] that James Holt, for whose rescue Jermyn was convicted, was discharged at the last sessions it appearing he is an innocent man neither an outlaw nor a smuggler. Samuel Eager, Brandson, Welch, Cullington, James Carbold, Rachel Snell, the Reverend Mr French, Thomas Bartram otherwise Thomas Smith, Jeffreys and Robert Clarke otherwise Plunder are mentioned in the statement of case.
