Description

Captured ship: Cambridge (master Michael Hubbard before the capture, Beauqueney Plaval after).

History: an English merchant ship (schooner, 100 tons), bound from Barbados to London, laden with sugar and rum; taken on 3/14 March 1746 off Cape Clear by the French men of war L'Etoile (Ofroy du Guay Lambert commanding, 50 guns) and La Sirene (32 guns), retaken on 12/23 March four leagues off Ushant by the privateers Adventure (John Lauga commanding) and Guernsey (David Pinaux commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
