Folios 240-241: Robert Pettet, HMS Briseis, Chatham. States John Butter appointed Boatswain of HMS Briseis by Warrant dated 25 June 1808 from HMS Neptune then off Brest. On receiving his letter of appointment on 13 July 1808, he made all possible haste to join HMS Brisies but only joined on 23 July 1808. He request to be allowed to enter him on the Books of HMS Briseis from 14 July 1808.
