Folios 363-364: Charles Vinicombe Penrose, Sea Fencibles, Padstow. In his letter of 6 February [1807] he reported that 8 French prisoners had been landed from the Susan cutter, Anthony Rowland Master, at New Quay [Newquay] and that owing to the wind she had been obliged to work off immediately leaving the prisoners unguarded. Lieutenant Warren who commands the Sea Fencibles at New Quay thought it his duty to take charge of the, and there being no Magistrate at hand he conveyed them to prison. The Navy Board has refused to reimburse the expenses without an order. Asks for an order to allow the sum of £4 7s to be allowed on his accounts.
