Folios 404-405: Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Clyde, the Downs. He encloses the letters from the Admiral concerning John Kerr and John Rippengill. John Kerr was impressed from an East Indianan in the River and other men, he stated he was a Baker but there were no documents to prove he had never been to sea. John Rippengill was impressed in the same manner but had no documents.
Folios 406-407: enclosure with folios 404-405. Letter dated 25 July 1807 by Lord Napier, Captain of Sea Fencibles. 30 St. James Street to the Admiralty. He encloses a letter from John Kerr and verifies that he has known Kerr for 14 years, was never at sea and served in the Fencibles. Kerr is a Journeyman Baker. The author of the letter has teken an interest in Kerr's welfare and promoted him to the rank of Sergeant.
Folios 408-409: enclosure with folios 404-405. Letter dated 25 July 1807 by John Kerr on board HMS Clyde, Gravesend his brother. He states tht he and John Young were impressed from the Diana onto the Clyde and due to go to the Nore. He asks that Lord Napier is made aware and William Brown. All their clothes are on the Diana and he asks that they are retreived, or contact Mr. Hill or Mr. Haig at No 31 Lambeth Sreet, Goodmans Fields. He says they are both miserable.
Folios 410-411: enclosure with folios 404-405. Letter dated 25 July 1807 by John Taylor, Lloyds Coffee House to the Admiralty. He encloses the indenture of John Rippengill, Apprentice to Captain P. Levitt. He asks for Rippengill's discharge.
