Folios 192-193: John Arthur Norway, HMS Tromp, Falmouth. Reply to letter dated 4 January 1806. enclosing one from William Dobree on the subject of Captain Valpy [Anthony Blagrave Valpy] - You will be pleased to inform the Admiralty that Valpy was impressed by the Rendezvous at Falmouth and entered for HMS Chaswell as will appear by the enclosed List, that no threat was made use of by him, or any Officer of this ship to induce this man (or any other) to enter for the Service. As this man was sent by the Rendezvous on board HMS Tromp he has communicated Mr Dobree's letter to Captain Ryder who will state the circumstances of his being impressed.
Folios 194-195: enclosure with folios 192-193. Letter dated 7 Janaury 1806 by Charles Ryder [Regulating Officer], Falmouth to the Admiralty. States John Arthur Norway of HMS Tromp having referred to him a letter from Mr Barrow dated 4 January 1806 relative to Francis Valpy who was sent from this Rendezvous on board HMS Tromp. He informs that he was found serving in the capacity od Second Mate on board the Brig Economy in this Harbour and that finding he was going to be sent on board HMS Tromp, he requested to be allowed to enter for HMS Charwell as he said Captain Philip Dumaresq was related to him by marriage, and that no threat of sending him on board a Ship going to the West Indies was made use of by him or by the Lieutenant who took him on bboard in whose presence as well as that of Lieutenant McCarthy of HMS Tromp he expressed his desire to enter for HMS Charwell. PS He has received a Box directed to his care for Vice Admiral William Mitchell and have delivered it in [the] charge of Mr Pender, The Agent for the Packets here, to be forwarded to him.

A List of Two Men sent from the Rendezvous at Falmouth on board HMS Tromp:- 4 December 1805, David Lewis, Able Seaman, Able Seaman, Age 50, Volunteer. 4 December 1805, Francis Valpy, Able Seaman, Age 28, Volunteer for HMS Charwell. 11 December 1805 - Signed Charles Ryder. [Date on letter [Folios 192-193] was 7 January 1805 entered as 1806 as it is assumed a clerical error].
