Description

Folios 240-241: Sykes, Son & Stilwell, Arundel Street, [Arundel Street, London]. Request for renumeration for their client, Captain Rowland Mainwaring, HMS Paulina, for providing passage for Mr Dalzel to Bona at the request of Richard Budd Vincent, Naval Officer of Malta.

Folio 242: enclosure with folios 240-241. Orders, dated 17 November 1814, Captain Richard Budd Vincent, HMS Trident and Senior Officer, Malta to Captain Rowland Mainwaring, HMS Paulina. States that as requested by Govenor Thomas Maitland he is to proceed to Bona with Mr Dalzel on board immediately and upon arrival to wait no more than 6 days for any dispatches.

Folio 243: enclosure with folios 242. Orders, dated 15 May 1815, Captain Richard Budd Vincent, HMS Trident & Senior Officer of Malta to Captain Rowland Mainwairing, HMS Paulina. States that Govenor Thomas Maitland wants to procure from Bona and Cagliari a quantity of corn for use by the Government with Transports to convoy it to Malta as soon as possible. Orders to take Mr Dalzel on board and take him to Bona with the assistance of the Tranports, HMS Andromeda, HMS Richard and Ann, HMS Renovation and HMS Anne. The first 3 vessels are to remain at Bona for loading and repair and HMS Anne is to go to Cagliari for the same purpose, returning to Bona with all four transports, then returning to Malta.
