Description

Folios 448-449: William Sumner Hall, HMS Pert, Port Royal, Jamaica. Covering letter for the enclosed copy of a Commission granted to Lieutenant James Huggins now in HMS Pert for consideration of the Admiralty, also a Statement of his service. He received a sever wound on 15 February 1806 on HMS Gipsy. [Some details of his service] He recommends him as a deserving Officer.

Folio 450: enclosure with folios 448-449. Letter dated 21 May 1808 by Vice Admiral James Richard Dacres, HMS Veteran, Port Royal Harbour, Jamaica, to James Huggins, Midshipman, HMS Shark. Orders to proceed to HMS Shark as Acting Lieutenant due to a vacancy caused by Captain Broughton of HMS Meleager being invalided

Folio 451: enclosure with folios 448-449. Letter dated 19 May 1810 by Lieutenant James Huggins, HMS Pert, Port Royal, to the Admiralty. [Memorial - Summary of service] [ends] In HMS Hercule with Captain Dacres he was severely wounded as to [be] deprived the use of his left arm.
