Folios 466-467: Philip Hue, HMS Actaeon, Liverpool. Responding to Admiralty query of 11 September, says Patrick Phipps [Phypps] is an Able Seaman, a fit young man who has been forwarded to the Fleet aboard HMS Chapman, and Richard McKitrick has also been sent by the same ship.
Folios 468-469: enclosure with folios 466-467. From R. Kirkpatrick asking to know on what terms Phipps may be released as his father recently died leaving a widow and several younger children to be cared for.
Folios 470-471: enclosure with folios 466-467. A follow-up from R. Kirkpatrick to his letter of 22 August regarding Richard McKitrick [also McKittrick], enclosing an affidavit from his master and a copy of the indentures [not now present], asking for his discharge.
Folio 472: enclosure with folios 466-467. From John Wilson, master mariner, swearing that McKitrick is his apprentice, as per indentures dated 14 March 1800 for three years, and that he had never been at sea before coming to work as a farm labourer in Chester, and was not yet 17.
