Papers relating to the French and Polish contribution to the solution of ENIGMA, particularly as revealed by General Gustave BERTRAND in his book, ENIGMA, and S A MAYER of the Polish Intelligence Service. This comprises a number of papers mostly concerning BERTRAND's book detailing the French (and Polish) contribution to the breaking of ENIGMA. Comments on the book, or the story itself, are provided by the pre-war head of the Polish Intelligence Service, members of GC & CS, the National Security Agency and the SIS.
