Description

Attested copy of deed of appointment

i) Robert Askham, Hatch, Northill, yeoman, and wife Ann

ii) Thomas Daniel, Hatch, farmer William Linnell, Thorncote, Northill, farmer reciting deed of 28 May 1772

a)William Clark, Thorncote, labourer, and wife Jane said Robert Askham and wife Ann Joseph Keech, Tingrey, labourer, and wife Mary (said Jane, Ann and Mary being co-heirs of Simon Usher, late of Eynesbury, Hunts, bricklayer, deceased)

b) Simon Staughton, Eynesbury, Hunts, gentleman by which i) agreed to levy a fine to b) of - cottage and orchard at Hatch, Northill once in occupation of William Haines and now of Robert Askham

- 2 cottages and rood arable land belonging in Girtford, Sandy, then in occupation of widow Barker and Widow West and now of - and widow Care

It was agreed that said fine should operate as one undivided 1/3rd part of said premises to use of Robert Askham and wife Ann

Since making above deed, a piece of land adjoining the orchard of the cottage, in Hatch (1a 2r 3p) has been allotted to said cottage by enclosure commissioners and fenced by Robert Askham

Now i) appoint to ii) - undivided 1/3rd part of --- said cottage, orchard and land on trust for i) to receive the rents during their life times and, after the decease of the survivor of them, then to be sold and proceeds divided between James, John, Abraham, Elizabeth, wife of Joseph Wells, Ann and Hannah

Askham, the children of i) as tenants in common Power given to Ann to mortgage said premises if after the death of her husband, she needs further support marks of i) witnesses (copy signatures) Henry Weyman
